1. Any licensed amateur in the world is eligible to participate. There is no need for
Roadrunners Microwave Group (RMG) membership.
2. All contacts must be must be on amateur bands above 220 MHz authorized in the
participant's country, but contacts may be arranged on other bands or by any other
means. The minimum exchange is call-sign and 4 character grid-square.
3. Each year is a separate competition, which runs from January 1st of each year through
December 31st of that year. All contacts must be completed in the calendar year for which
the entry is submitted. Entries must be on the RMG Yearly Tally Sheet form, or a reasonable
facsimile thereof. Monthly and Yearly Tally Sheets are available from RMG, or on this site.
4. Only Single Operator entries are accepted.
5. Family and club stations may be operated under more than one call, but the operator must
be the holder of the call for which the entry is submitted. Alternatively, club stations may
be operated under the club call, but all contacts for credit must be made by one operator who
must sign his or her name and call on the Yearly Tally Sheet.
6. The same station may be contacted on a band once each day for points, but contacts made on
two successive days must be separated by at least three hours. Days are defined in UTC time.
7. Apply multipliers per the Multiplier Matrix sheet.
8. Any legal transmission modes may be used.
9. Contacts may be made via any propagation mode with other amateur stations located on
the surface of the Earth, including Maritime Mobile stations. But no means of relaying or
repeating through any man-made devices may be employed for points. Contacts made off the
Moon are OK.
10. There are two categories of entries:
FIXED STATION: All contacts from a Fixed Stations must be made from a single location, or
locations within 80 km of one another. If the licensee moves farther than 80 km during the
year, separate entries may be submitted for each location, or the entry may be submitted in
the Portable/Mobile category.
PORTABLE / MOBILE: Participants in the Portable/Mobile category may work a station more than
once in a day on a band, if the Portable/Mobile station moves to another 4 character grid.
Similarly, a Fixed Station may work the Portable/Mobile station again on that band in the same
day in each grid visited.
11. A single person my submit entries in both the Fixed Station and Portable/Mobile categories.
12. Entries must be received by RMG by 1 March of the year following the year for which the
entry is submitted.
13. Awards will be presented to the top three entrants in the world. In addition, certificates
will be given to the top three participants in each category in each of the ten continental
U.S. call areas and each Canadian call area plus each DXCC country from which valid entries
are received.
14.This competition will be administered by the RMG Contest Committee and all decisions made
by that committee are final.
